A good donation combines generosity with a few simple checks. You do not need to conduct an investigation: confirm who receives the money, use an official channel and keep a traceable record of the payment.
Identify the organization
Check the legal name, tax code and official website. If the organization presents itself as an ETS, APS or ODV, search the RUNTS register. Read what it actually does, where it operates and how it reports its work.
Use the official donation page
Reach the donation page from the organization’s own domain. Check the address carefully before entering payment information. Bank transfer, card and established payment services create a record; cash generally gives you less protection and may not meet the conditions for Italian tax relief.

One-off or regular support
A one-off gift is flexible and useful for a specific need. A regular gift helps an organization plan, but should be easy to change or cancel. If both buttons lead to the same official page, choose the frequency there instead of treating them as separate support methods.
Tax treatment
Italian deductions or tax credits depend on the donor, recipient, payment method and current law. Keep the receipt and payment evidence. When the amount or situation is significant, ask a qualified tax adviser rather than relying on a campaign slogan.
What to review afterwards
Look for reports showing activities, results and use of funds. Administrative costs are not automatically waste: people, safeguarding, technology and evaluation make responsible work possible. What matters is whether costs are explained and proportionate to the mission.
Start in the directory, compare the available public information and complete any donation only on the organization’s official website.
